FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS You say each one will be signed and numbered. What do you mean by “signed”? Will it say, for example “To John”? These are signed which means that J. Michael Straczynski is personally signing his full name to each one. The term to describe the “To John” scenario is inscribed. These are not sent inscribed. Can I get it inscribed? Yes and no. The print you receive will simply be signed as we just noted. It’s not possible to have them inscribed before they are framed and shipped. That said, when JMS is making a personal appearance, you are welcome to bring your print and JMS will happily (even joyfully) inscribe it on the back. The entire back is sealed with a white fiberboard-type material that makes it especially well-suited for signing. What
if I don’t like it once I get it? Since it’s going to be a little over a week before my print is shipped, when will my credit card actually be charged? When the print actually ships. Your card will be authorized when the order is received, but not actually charged until the print has literally left the building and is on it’s way to you. When you say that after this 500 print run it’s gone...what do you really mean? Sometimes collectibles are re-issued but just not numbered or signed. We mean that this iteration is done. Finito. Never again. Ever. Now
there's an important caveat here: we do plan to continue to issue Declaration
of Principles related merchandise (cards, t-shirts and the like), and
it’s possible there could even be another signed and numbered Declaration
of Principles print way, way, down the road with a completely different
design. But this look, this feel, this rendition or anything that looks
even remotely similar is kaput and will never be seen again on a framed
print. And you know JMS. When he says something is done it's done. When
will I know what number I got? Will
I be able to place my order by phone? What
if mine is damaged in shipping? Depending on the nature of the damage, we will handle it accordingly. If the mat (which is where the print is actually signed and numbered) was damaged we will destroy the mat and have JMS re-sign a new one with the same number you had. In other words there is no risk of losing your priority numbering just because of some ill-luck. Now that you know the fix, it might also be helpful to know that damage is highly unlikely. The prints are specifically packed for damage control and the actual contents – plexiglass and metal – are indestructible. Of course with UPS you never know. What
if mine is lost in shipping? Is
it ready for hanging when I receive it? Do I have to put any hardware
on the back?
